Burial Options
We are pleased to offer several burial options, as well as the ability to customize a burial plan in order to accommodate your wishes and/or additional family members. For your convenience, please see below for the burial options available, based on your preferred burial type (full casket or cremation). When choosing which option best suits you and your family, we encourage you to discuss this with your family members, in order to make them a part of, or participant in, the arrangements you choose. If you are interested in learning more about these options or wish to inquire about an option not listed, please reach out to our office at (540) 659-2191 or inforequest.smp@gmail.com.
Full Casket
For families interested in full casket burials, we offer both in-ground and above ground options. Please see below for more information about each of these offerings.
Traditional
Traditional
A traditional burial is most typically defined as an in-ground, single-depth interment.
Please note, a traditional burial lot can be customized to include one set of cremated remains, placed under the memorial (provided there is sufficient space). This is most commonly utilized when two spouses wish to be buried in the same lot but one spouse wishes to have a full casket burial and the other wishes to be cremated.
Double Depth
Double Depth
A double depth burial allows for the in-ground interment of two full caskets within the same lot. The first casket is placed lower in the ground than a traditional burial, allowing for the second interment above it, at a later time.
Please note, double depth lots can be customized to include one set of cremated remains, placed under the memorial (provided there is sufficient space).
Private Mausoleum Burial
Private Mausoleum Burial
A private mausoleum allows for the above ground burial of two full caskets.
Please note, if you are interested in a private mausoleum, this must be pre-planned, as they are specially ordered for each family.
Cremation
As demand for cremation options has risen, we have expanded our offerings to include dedicated in-ground cremation lots, columbarium niches, beveled cremation posts, and cremation bench estates. For families that pre-purchased a traditional lot but have chosen to be cremated, we offer the ability to convert the traditional burial lot into a family cremation estate. Please see below for more information about each of these offerings.
Please note, Stafford Memorial Park does have a Cremation Wall, however there is no remaining availability.
In-Ground Cremation Lots
In-Ground Cremation Lots
An in-ground cremation lot is smaller than a traditional burial lot and can accommodate up to two sets of cremated remains. These dedicated lots are located around the perimeter of the gardens.
Please note, if you wish to be close to family that is buried in a full casket lot, we can typically accommodate an in-ground cremation lot in the same section.
Columbarium Niches
Columbarium Niches
A columbarium niche (12 x 12) is located within an existing columbarium and can accommodate up to three sets of cremated remains (provided the urns containing the remains adhere to our size requirements).
Please note, if you are interested in a private columbarium (allowing you to utilize all niches), this must be pre-planned, as they are specially ordered for each family.
Beveled Cremation Posts
Beveled Cremation Posts
Our newest offering of beveled cremation posts are available as single or double cremation sites and are located around the perimeter of the gardens. These allow for one or two sets of cremated remains to be interred within this upright granite marker. The top of the marker will be carved to include the name, birth date, and death date of the decedent(s).
Please note, we are in the process of installing these posts as identifiers throughout the cemetery (with the row number carved into the front). If you are interested in purchasing a cremation post that will also be utilized as an identifier, these will be offered at a discount. We appreciate your help in making this capital improvement to Stafford Memorial Park.
Cremation Bench Estates
Cremation Bench Estates
A cremation bench estate is a private burial option, designed to allow families to bury multiple sets of cremated remains inside a customized bench. These sites are strategically located around the cemetery.
Please note, if you are interested in a bench estate, this must be pre-planned, as they are specially ordered for each family.
Family Cremation Estates
Family Cremation Estates
A family cremation estate utilizes a tradition full-burial lot to accommodate up to eight sets of cremated remains. If you are interested in converting a traditional full-burial lot into a family cremation estate, please contact our office.
